How to Install Metamask on Chrome?

The MetaMask wallet helps you interactively manage your tokens and interact with the Ethereum blockchain. It has a mobile application and a browser extension on Desktop or laptops. We will explore step-by-step the installation and setup process of the Metamask extension on Chrome or other web browsers in this article.

Step 1: Go to Metamask's official website

Step 2: Click on the Download button. It will lead you to your browser extension store.

Step 3: In the extension store, click Add to Chrome, Firefox, or another browser to install the Metamask extension on your browser.

Step 4: A popup will now appear to confirm if you want to add the browser extension. Click Add, and the Metamask interface will now be shown on your browser.

Step 5: You can now access the Metamask browser extension on your desktop anytime you want from the extension section at the top-right corner of the browser on your laptop/desktop. But for now, we will press the ‘Get Started’ button and complete the remaining steps.

(Tip: To quickly access the Metamask extension on the desktop browser, pin it in the extension tab.)

Step 6: It will then ask you for consent on whether you want to share some usage data with Metamask. Pressing any of these buttons doesn’t really affect the installation process. So, we’ll press I agree and move on to the next steps.

Step 7: You will then be asked if you have an account on Metamask that you want to import here. You will find a detailed guide on how to do that if you have an account on our website. But to create a new account, we press the ‘Create a wallet’ button and move on.

Step 8: It will now ask you to create a password to access your Metamask wallet. Enter and confirm a strong password of at least eight characters and press the create button.

Step 9: The instruction screen that follows password creation guides you on how to secure your wallet with a recovery phrase. Stay attentive on the next few steps, as this phrase can be used to access your wallet. Press next.

Step 10: Now click on the gray area on the next screen to reveal your secret recovery phrase. See this phrase, copy it, save it somewhere safe and never tell anyone. Save it with your life and for immediate use on the next screen after you press the next button.

Step 11: Select the words in the same order as they appear in your secret phrase from the last screen and press confirm to finalize the account creation process. You will be greeted with a congratulations message after successful account creation. If you had any problem in the process, please ensure that your internet connection is working properly and you followed the steps correctly.
