How to Add BNB Network in MetaMask?

Binance Smart Chain holds a few key advantages over the Ethereum main net, but it also comes with its own set of drawbacks. But more importantly, it is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, which means that you can use it in almost all applications built for the Ethereum Mainnet. Apps such as MetaMask. MetaMask is an amazing GUI tool that lets you interact with the blockchain network.

Previously, you needed to manually enter the network details in MetaMask, but the recent update of MetaMask gives you an option to interactively add a few networks(including BSC) in the application or the browser extension. Let’s find out the step-by-step process to add a BSC network in MetaMask.

  1. Install MetaMask: As an obvious first step, ensure that you have the MetaMask desktop extension installed and set up in your browser. You can download and install it from the extension store for your browser and set it up. If you are unfamiliar with the process, just follow along with this simple guide on our website.

  2. Once you have installed the MetaMask on your browser, locate it in the top-right corner, where you may see a fox logo or the jigsaw puzzle icon. Find MetaMask in there and click to open it. After opening the extension, find a circular profile-type icon in the top-right corner of the extension window and click on it.
  3. open-metamask-extension and click on the profile icon
  4. On the profile menu, find the settings option and click on that to reveal the MetaMask settings. You’ll find a “Network” tab here. Select that to reveal the network settings.

But for now, we will move the “Add Network” option to the bottom, and it will open a new window in your browser.
